Islamic Cultural Center of Madrid is also commonly called as M30 mosque or Masjid M30 among us. It is because the mosque is located near the M30 expressway.
When I blogged about Madrid Central Mosque back in January 2013, I had some confusion where I thought there was only one mosque in Madrid. This was before I got married in September 2013.
The picture above is Islamic Cultural Center of Madrid and it is also a mosque. Not until I have arrived in Madrid that I know there are actually two different mosques!
One is Abu Bakar Mosque (Madrid Central Mosque) which is near Estrecho Metro Station, Line 1. You can read more about Madrid Central Mosque here.
Islamic Cultural Center of Madrid is near to:
- Barrio de la Concepcion Metro Station, Line 7 ( on right of the map)
- Parque de Las Avenidas Metro Station, Line 7
Both metro stations are one station apart. Depending where you are from you could reach either of them first.
If you decide to walk from Barrio de la Concepcion Metro Station, you will find many halal shops but not from Parque de Las Avenidas.
However, the view from Parque de Las Avenidas is prettier. IMO. You will walk pass a bridge over the M30 expressway with view like this as in the picture.
Duration and walking distance is shorter though from Barrio de la Concepcion Metro Station.
Our visit to Madrid Islamic Cultural Center
Me and my husband most of the time frequent Abu Bakar Mosque for Friday prayer instead of Islamic Cultural Center because of the distance from our house. By metro it is more than one hour to here.
